WHENEVER I TRACK MY FOOD, THE CALORIES AND MACROS DON’T ADD UP! WHAT’S UP WITH THAT? 🥲
Food labels have some explaining to do!
With food labels, it’s very common for manufacturers to round up a bit just to make the label look a little cleaner.
For example, if a food has 24 grams of protein that would equate to 96 calories (24 X 4 (amount of calories per gram of protein)), but they may just round up to 100 calories for that food.
You may notice numbers tend to be way off after calculating everything and again food labels are just estimates.
If you’re paying attention to your macro intake and using some sort of app to track your food, don’t worry if the calories are off.
When in doubt, just stay consistent and listen to your body!
