Losing weight can be a difficult and frustrating process, especially when you’re putting in the effort to track your calorie intake.

However, even the best tracking doesn’t make a difference for some individuals. This is likely due to the discrepancy between self-reported and actual calorie intake.

Numerous studies have examined the discrepancy between self-reported calorie intake and the actual calorie intake of individuals who fail to lose weight.

The results have shown that, on average, individuals underreport their daily calories by 47%!
