I don’t want to be a downer in no shape or form. However, let’s be realistic for a second. A loss is a part of life — whether it’s losing a loved one or a position. This has been the hardest week of life because a couple days ago (January 28th), I buried my oldest brother, Joshua, who passed away at the young age of 33 on January 22nd from an unknown virus that caused multiple organ failure.

I am going to share some personal photos so please be advised.

I will always remember and cherish the many memories I have of Joshua. Joshua, who despite being born blind, autistic, and mentally challenged, lived a life that far exceeding any doctor limitations and biases. Despite being a kidney transplant recipient, Joshua lived his life to the fullest always charging into life head strong. I learned many things from this amazing and pure soul: How to be responsible, how to be committed, and how to take care of your family. These are only a few things that scratch the surface of how much of an amazing person Joshua really was.
