You never know how your body is going to respond.
We all have a genetic makeup unique to us, and even if we want to change it, unfortunately, it’s impossible.
With that being said, can exercise help you overcome what you were naturally born with — Your DNA?
In a recent study, researchers from the University of California, San Diego, made discoveries.
The researchers measured the activity levels of 5,400 women in their late 70s and also analyzed their DNA for three genetic markers associated with longevity.
Then they kept track of the women for an average of 6.5 years.
What was their finding?
For older women, exercise can overcome genetics to live longer.

The Study Findings
Women with the most genetic markers for longevity were 68 percent more likely to survive to age 90 than women with the “worst” genes.
But that difference changed once physical activity levels were factored in.
