Happy International Women’s Day…even though I’m a couple of days late :P

With that said, I would not be where I am today without the help, love, and support of some fantastic women! As we celebrate women worldwide and their many accomplishments, I want to remind them about their health and fitness. If you do not take the time for yourself, no one will give it to you.

Yes, women benefit from lifting heavy weights. And no, you won’t get big or bulky (whatever that means) or any misinformation you may have.

This article highlights five things the public gets wrong about Women’s Fitness.

Let’s start!

The Cardio Bunny

Cardio is great, but it should not be the end all be all for reaching your goals. Often, women should cut back on endless cardio. Cardio for general health is valuable, but for physique, not so much. Instead, aim for building muscle and quick yet intense high-intensity intervals. That, or build muscle.

The Beauty of Looking Ugly

Working out could be more pretty. Sadly, it’s not. Pushing yourself to different heights is not for the faint! But women in the gym should not fear making a “grunt face.”
