Despite my “baby face” ( I’m 31 years old), I’ve been in the fitness industry for over ten years. My passion for helping others started from my health and fitness journey of being a “butterball” growing up and getting bullied to dropping weight and picking up sports.

It was only at the tail end of high school and the start of college (during my college years, I donated my kidney to my father) that I decided I wanted to become a personal trainer seriously and create my path to serving others in need.

Over the many years, I worked under different leaders/mentors in gym settings, and franchises, I’ve learned many lessons that shaped my development and outlook, so when it was time for me to do “my own thing,” I was ready to step up for the challenge.

With that being said, I’m taking a different approach from my usual articles to share some insights for other trainers and coaches in the industry who are starting!

Every day, someone is getting their certification in the mail, so instead of facing some already hard challenges ahead, I hope these lessons can serve as a survival kit for your success.
